Drowsy Chaperone - The backdrops I used:

B

Above is the MANSION TAB from Triad Stage Sceneshop.  I used it in the fantasy GARDEN SCENE along with a faux stone fountain (Triad) and two practical lamp posts (our stock).   This tab drop is one of my all-time favorite drops from this or any renter.  It's absolutely beautiful.  I've used it before, in shows including Music Man.  (Click to enlarge).

Above is the SIAM HALLWAY (aka "Buddha drop") from HART professional theatre in the mountains of North Carolina.  It was ideal for the funny scene in Drowsy Chaperone where they briefly make fun of The King and I.   We rented it once before for the real King and I musical.

Technical notes:  The drop is old and the paint is cracking, but it still looks stunning from a distance.  My proscenium stage requires drops to be 20 feet tall, but this one is only 13 feet tall.  So I had to add a red velour teaser above it by hanging a second batten, "trapeze style", under the primary batten.

Sloan Theatre, Greensboro Day School

We have 22 houselight fixtures in the ceiling.  They are the cans in the upper-left of this photo.  They are controlled by an ETC Sensor dimmer system intended for theatrical spotlights.  I would like to replace the 250 watt incandescent PAR lamps with dimmable LEDs of the same output.
